A tablecloth ordered from a vague description such as “standard event table” may not fit the furniture supplied at the venue. Before requesting branded table covering, measure the actual table or obtain confirmed dimensions from the organiser.
Record the table’s shape and dimensions
For a rectangular table, provide the tabletop length and width together with the height from the floor. For a round table, provide its diameter and height. State the units clearly and identify whether dimensions are measured or estimated.
If the venue will supply several table types, label each one separately. A photograph is useful for understanding the shape but should not replace confirmed measurements.
Describe how much coverage you want
Explain whether the cover should reach close to the floor, leave a visible gap or cover only part of the table. State whether the back needs to remain open for seating, storage access or staff use.
Do not calculate the final manufacturing dimensions yourself unless the supplier has asked you to use a particular template. Give the table dimensions and desired appearance, then ask the supplier to confirm the finished specification.
Choose the style with the event in mind
A loose cloth, fitted cover and stretch-style cover are different products. Ask what is available and appropriate for your furniture and use. Check how the selected style affects installation, transport and the way the logo appears.
- Will staff sit behind the table?
- Will stock or equipment need to be reached underneath?
- Will customers view the table from several sides?
- Will the same cover be reused on different tables?
Plan branding on the visible panels
Identify the front of the table and the sides that customers will see. Keep important text where it will remain visible after the cloth is fitted and equipment is placed on top. A large logo on the tabletop may be covered by brochures, products or a display stand.
Approve the layout on the proposed cover style, not only as a flat logo placed on a plain background.
Confirm practical handling details
Ask for care instructions, packing guidance and the agreed delivery date. If a venue changes the table allocation, tell the supplier before production rather than assuming the original cover will fit.
