A sales flyer should help a prospective customer make one decision: whether the offer is relevant and how to respond. When every sentence competes for attention, the reader has to do the work of finding the message. Start with a hierarchy before adding decoration.
Lead with the actual offer
Explain what is being sold in language a customer understands. A clever slogan can support the offer, but should not replace it. If a reader cannot identify the product or service quickly, simplify the headline.
Use photographs or illustrations that represent what the customer can actually order. Do not show a premium specification while the headline price refers to a materially different item without making the distinction clear.
Include the information that changes the buying decision
Depending on the offer, that may include size, quantity, material, inclusions, location or a closing date. Select information that helps the reader judge suitability. Move lengthy specifications into a linked product page or a follow-up quotation rather than shrinking all the text to fit.
Where prices appear, state the relevant unit or quantity. “From” pricing needs a clear basis; it should not imply that every pictured version costs the same amount.
Make the next step easy
Choose a primary action such as requesting a quotation, placing an order or visiting a location. Make the associated contact detail easy to find. If WhatsApp is the intended route, use the number monitored for enquiries and check every digit before printing.
A QR code can support the action, but include enough written context for someone who cannot scan it. Test its destination and printed readability.
Remove competing messages
- Services unrelated to the specific promotion.
- Repeated phone numbers or duplicated calls to action.
- Unverified claims such as “cheapest” or “number one”.
- Decorative text that makes the offer harder to read.
- Expired dates and details copied from an earlier campaign.
Give conditions room to be understood
If the offer has a minimum quantity, limited period or separately charged component, state it clearly. Important conditions should not be hidden in unreadable text. A concise and accurate offer is more useful than a headline that produces avoidable disputes.
Review the flyer at its intended print size. Then ask someone unfamiliar with the promotion to explain what they think is included and what they should do next.
